Gladys Knight and The Pips was an American R&B/soul group that formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1952. The group's members included lead singer Gladys Knight along with her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight, sister Brenda Knight, and cousins Elenor Guest and William Guest. They achieved commercial success in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Midnight Train to Georgia," and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)."
Known for their smooth harmonies and powerful vocals, Gladys Knight and The Pips were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. They won multiple Grammy Awards and were one of the top R&B groups of their era. The group disbanded in 1989, and Gladys Knight continued her successful music career as a solo artist.
