Glen Campbell was an American singer, songwriter, and actor born on April 22, 1936, in Billstown, Arkansas. He rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with hits such as "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," and "Gentle on My Mind." Campbell was known for his smooth voice, crossover appeal, and ability to blend country, pop, and rock music styles.
In addition to his successful music career, Glen Campbell also appeared in films and television shows, including the popular 1969 film "True Grit" alongside John Wayne. Campbell won numerous awards throughout his career, including several Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Glen Campbell passed away on August 8, 2017, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
