Glen Campbell was an American singer, songwriter, and actor, born on April 22, 1936, in Billstown, Arkansas. He rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," and "Gentle on My Mind." Campbell was known for his smooth voice, country music style, and crossover success in pop music. He won numerous awards throughout his career, including multiple Grammy Awards and Country Music Association Awards.
In addition to his successful music career, Campbell also appeared in films and television shows, including hosting "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" on CBS. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and continued to perform and record music until his retirement in 2012. Campbell passed away on August 8, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
