Glen Campbell was an American singer, songwriter, and actor born on April 22, 1936, in Billstown, Arkansas. He rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with a series of hit songs that crossed over from country to pop music. Campbell is best known for his hits such as "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," and "Gentle on My Mind."
In addition to his successful music career, Glen Campbell also appeared in a variety of films and television shows. He hosted "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" on television from 1969 to 1972 and acted in movies like "True Grit" alongside John Wayne. Campbell was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and received numerous awards throughout his career. Sadly, he passed away on August 8, 2017, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
