Glen Campbell was an American singer, guitarist, and actor born on April 22, 1936, in Delight, Arkansas. He rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with a series of hit songs that included "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Gentle on My Mind," and "Wichita Lineman." Campbell was known for his smooth voice and skilled guitar playing, and he was a versatile artist who worked in a variety of genres, including country, pop, and rock.
In addition to his successful music career, Campbell also appeared in films and television shows, most notably hosting "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" on CBS from 1969 to 1972. He won numerous awards throughout his career, including Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, and a Golden Globe for his performance in the film "True Grit." Campbell was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away on August 8, 2017, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
