Glenn Yarbrough was an American folk singer and guitarist, known for his smooth tenor voice and his contributions to the folk music scene in the 1960s. He was born on January 12, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and passed away on August 11, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. Yarbrough was a founding member of the popular folk group The Limeliters in the early 1960s, before pursuing a solo career. He released several successful albums as a solo artist, including "The Lonely Things" and "Baby, The Rain Must Fall".


Yarbrough is perhaps best known for his rendition of the song "Baby, The Rain Must Fall", which was featured in the 1965 Steve McQueen film of the same name. His music often blended elements of folk, pop, and traditional ballads, and he was praised for his emotive vocal delivery. Throughout his career, Yarbrough performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, leaving a lasting impact on the folk music genre.
