Gloria Gaynor is an American singer known for her success in the disco era of the 1970s. She was born on September 7, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey. Gaynor is best known for her hit song "I Will Survive," which became an anthem for the feminist and LGBTQ+ movements. The song won the Grammy Award for Best Disco Recording in 1980 and has since been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
