The original lineup consisted of Belinda Carlisle (vocals), Jane Wiedlin (guitar, vocals), Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar, keyboards), Kathy Valentine (bass, vocals), and Gina Schock (drums). Known for their catchy pop-rock sound and punk-inspired energy, the Go-Go's achieved mainstream success with hits like "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," and "Vacation." They were the first all-female band who wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to have a number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. The Go-Go's were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
