Artist Bio:
The Go-Go's formed in Los Angeles in 1978 and became one of the most successful female rock bands of the 1980s. The original lineup consisted of Belinda Carlisle (vocals), Jane Wiedlin (guitar, vocals), Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar, keyboards), Kathy Valentine (bass, vocals), and Gina Schock (drums). Known for their catchy pop-rock sound and punk-inspired energy, the Go-Go's achieved mainstream success with hits like "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," and "Vacation." They were the first all-female band who wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to have a number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. The Go-Go's were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
