The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik, bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska (who was later replaced by Mike Malinin). The band is known for their alternative rock sound and catchy melodies that have garnered them commercial success and a dedicated fan base.


The Goo Goo Dolls gained widespread popularity in the 1990s with hits like "Name," "Iris," and "Slide." Their 1998 single "Iris" from the soundtrack of the film "City of Angels" became a massive hit, reaching the top of the charts in multiple countries.
