The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik, bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska (who was later replaced by Mike Malinin). They are known for their alternative rock sound that incorporates elements of punk rock and power pop. The Goo Goo Dolls gained mainstream success in the 1990s with hits like "Name," "Slide," and "Iris," which was featured on the soundtrack of the film "City of Angels."


Over the years, the Goo Goo Dolls have released numerous albums and singles, achieving commercial success and critical acclaim.
