Good Charlotte is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Waldorf, Maryland. The band consists of twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden, Billy Martin, Paul Thomas, and Dean Butterworth. They are known for their punk-pop sound and lyrics that often touch on themes of teenage angst, relationships, and social issues. Good Charlotte gained mainstream success with their second album, "The Young and the Hopeless," released in 2002, which spawned hits such as "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" and "The Anthem."
Over the years, Good Charlotte has released a total of seven studio albums and has toured extensively around the world. They have garnered a dedicated fan base and have been nominated for several awards, including multiple MTV Video Music Awards. The band took a hiatus in 2011 but returned in 2015 with a new album titled "Youth Authority." Good Charlotte continues to be a prominent figure in the pop-punk music scene.
