Grand Funk Railroad is an American rock band that formed in 1969 in Flint, Michigan. The band's original lineup consisted of Mark Farner (vocals, guitar), Don Brewer (drums), and Mel Schacher (bass). They were known for their hard-driving rock sound and energetic live performances, becoming one of the most popular rock bands of the 1970s.

Grand Funk Railroad released a string of successful albums in the early 1970s, including hits such as "We're an American Band" and "Some Kind of Wonderful." They were known for their raw, bluesy sound and catchy hooks. Despite some lineup changes over the years, the band has continued to perform and tour, with Farner leaving in the late 1990s.
