Great White is an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The band gained popularity in the 1980s and is known for their hit songs "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "Rock Me." Great White achieved mainstream success with their album "...Twice Shy," which reached double platinum status in the United States. The band's music is characterized by their catchy hooks, melodic guitar riffs, and powerful vocals.
Great White faced tragedy in 2003 when a fire broke out at one of their concerts at The Station nightclub in Rhode Island, resulting in the deaths of 100 people, including the band's guitarist Ty Longley. Despite this tragic event, Great White continued to perform and release new music, solidifying their place as one of the prominent bands in the hard rock genre.
