Gregg Allman was an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the co-founder and frontman of the Allman Brothers Band. Born on December 8, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee, Gregg Allman grew up in Florida and developed a passion for music at an early age. He formed the Allman Brothers Band in 1969 with his brother Duane Allman, and the band became one of the pioneering groups in the Southern rock genre.


Gregg Allman had a successful solo career in addition to his work with the Allman Brothers Band, releasing several albums and earning critical acclaim for his soulful vocals and songwriting. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 as a member of the Allman Brothers Band. Allman passed away on May 27, 2017, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of rock music.
