Artist Bio:
Group Home is an American hip-hop duo consisting of members Lil' Dap (born James Heath) and Melachi the Nutcracker (born Jamal Felder). They are best known for their affiliation with the hip-hop group Gang Starr, as they were signed to the same label, Payday Records, in the 1990s. Group Home released their debut album, "Livin' Proof," in 1995, which was produced by DJ Premier of Gang Starr. The album received critical acclaim for its raw and introspective lyricism, as well as DJ Premier's signature boom-bap production style.
Following the success of their debut album, Group Home released several more projects, including "A Tear for the Ghetto" in 1999 and "G.U.R.U." in 2010, paying tribute to their late mentor and Gang Starr member Guru. Despite facing some challenges and setbacks throughout their career, Group Home continues to be respected in the hip-hop community for their contributions to the genre.
