Harry Chapin was an American singer-songwriter known for his storytelling style of folk rock music. Born on December 7, 1942, in New York, Chapin released a number of albums throughout the 1970s, including his most successful album, "Verities & Balderdash." Apart from his music career, Chapin was also involved in humanitarian efforts, founding the organization World Hunger Year to combat hunger worldwide. Tragically, Chapin died in a car accident on July 16, 1981, cutting short a promising career and leaving behind a legacy of heartfelt and impactful music.
