Apart from his music career, Chapin was also involved in humanitarian efforts, founding the organization World Hunger Year to combat hunger worldwide. Tragically, Chapin died in a car accident on July 16, 1981, cutting short a promising career and leaving behind a legacy of heartfelt and impactful music.
