Artist Bio:
Harry Chapin was an American singer-songwriter born on December 7, 1942, in New York City. He was best known for his storytelling style of music and his heartfelt lyrics that often touched on themes of social justice and human relationships. Chapin gained widespread popularity in the 1970s with hits like "Taxi," "Cat's in the Cradle," and "W*O*L*D."

In addition to his successful music career, Chapin was also a dedicated humanitarian who co-founded the organization World Hunger Year (now known as WhyHunger) in 1975. He used his platform as a musician to raise awareness about issues of hunger and poverty, and he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his charitable work. Tragically, Chapin's life was cut short when he died in a car accident on July 16, 1981, at the age of 38.
