Artist Bio:
Hawkshaw Hawkins was a country music singer born on December 22, 1921, in Huntington, West Virginia. He started his music career in the 1940s, gaining popularity for his smooth baritone voice and honky-tonk style. Hawkins signed with King Records in the 1950s and released several successful singles, including "Lonesome 7-7203" and "I'm Waiting Just for You."


In addition to his music career, Hawkins was known for his personal life, including his marriage to fellow country singer Jean Shepard. Tragically, Hawkins' life was cut short when he died in a plane crash on March 5, 1963, along with other country music stars Patsy Cline and Cowboy Copas. Despite his untimely death, Hawkshaw Hawkins left a lasting impact on the country music scene, and his music continues to be celebrated by fans of the genre.
