Heart is an American rock band formed in 1970 in Seattle, Washington. The band's original lineup consisted of sisters Ann Wilson (lead vocals) and Nancy Wilson (guitar, vocals), along with several other members who have come and gone over the years. Heart achieved significant commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s with hit songs like "Barracuda," "Crazy on You," and "Alone." They are known for their powerful vocals, intricate harmonies, and a blend of hard rock and folk music influences. Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards.
The band went on hiatus in the mid-1990s but reunited in 2002 and continues to perform and record music to this day. Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Ann and Nancy Wilson are considered pioneers in the male-dominated rock music industry and have inspired many female musicians with their talent and longevity in the industry.
