Heather Headley is a Trinidadian-American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on October 5, 1974, in Trinidad and Tobago, and later moved to the United States to pursue a career in music and theater. Headley is best known for her powerful vocals and versatile range, which have earned her critical acclaim and multiple awards throughout her career.


Headley made her Broadway debut in the role of Nala in the original Broadway production of "The Lion King" in 1997. She later gained further recognition for her role as the original leading lady in the Broadway musical "Aida," for which she won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Headley has also released several successful R&B and gospel albums, showcasing her incredible vocal talent and songwriting skills.
