Heavy D & The Boyz was a hip hop group formed in Mount Vernon, New York in the late 1980s. The group consisted of lead rapper Heavy D (Dwight Errington Myers) along with Troy Dixon, Eddie F, and G-Whiz. They were known for their positive and upbeat lyrics, as well as their fusion of hip hop with elements of reggae, R&B, and pop music.

The group achieved mainstream success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Now That We Found Love" and "Is It Good to You". Heavy D & The Boyz released five studio albums together, with their most successful being "Big Tyme" in 1989. Heavy D also had a successful solo career and ventured into acting, appearing in several films and television shows. Sadly, Heavy D passed away in 2011 at the age of 44, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneer in the hip hop genre.
