Artist Bio:
Heavy D & The Boyz was a hip hop group formed in the late 1980s, consisting of the lead rapper Heavy D (Dwight Errington Myers) and his backing crew The Boyz, which included DJ Eddie F, T-Roy, G-Wiz, and Trouble T Roy. The group was known for their upbeat and positive style of rap music, which often incorporated elements of dancehall and reggae.
The group gained mainstream success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Now That We Found Love" and "Is It Good to You". Heavy D & The Boyz released five studio albums, with their most successful being "Big Tyme" and "Peaceful Journey". Heavy D was also known for his acting career, appearing in films and television shows such as "The Cider House Rules" and "Living Single". Tragically, Trouble T Roy passed away in a freak accident in 1990, but the group continued to release music until disbanding in the late 1990s.
