Helen Reddy was an Australian-American singer, actress, and activist, born on October 25, 1941, in Melbourne, Australia. She rose to fame in the 1970s with her hit song "I Am Woman," which became an anthem for the women's liberation movement. Reddy's other popular songs include "Delta Dawn," "Angie Baby," and "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady." She won a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "I Am Woman" in 1973.
In addition to her successful music career, Reddy also acted in films and television shows, including a starring role in the 1977 film "Pete's Dragon." She retired from performing in the early 2000s but made a comeback in 2012 with a one-woman show. Reddy passed away on September 29, 2020, at the age of 78.
