Helen Reddy was an Australian-American singer, actress, and activist who was born on October 25, 1941, in Melbourne, Australia, and passed away on September 29, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her empowering anthem "I Am Woman," which became a feminist anthem in the 1970s. Reddy released a total of 18 studio albums and had several hit singles throughout her career, including "Delta Dawn" and "Angie Baby." She was the first Australian to win a Grammy Award, earning the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1973 for "I Am Woman."


In addition to her music career, Reddy also appeared in various films and television shows, including "Airport 1975" and "Pete's Dragon." She was a prominent feminist and activist, advocating for women's rights and equality. Reddy's impact on the music industry and the feminist movement continues to be celebrated, and she remains a powerful figure in both realms.
