Helen Reddy was an Australian-American singer, actress, and activist, born on October 25, 1941, in Melbourne, Australia. She is best known for her empowering anthem "I Am Woman," which became a feminist anthem in the 1970s. The song earned her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1973. Reddy was the first Australian to win a Grammy award.


In addition to "I Am Woman," Helen Reddy had several other hits on the music charts, including "Delta Dawn," "Angie Baby," and "You and Me Against the World." She also had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as "Airport 1975" and "Pete's Dragon." Throughout her career, Reddy was a prominent advocate for women's rights and empowerment. She passed away on September 29, 2020, leaving behind a legacy as a trailblazing artist and feminist icon.
