Herb Alpert is an American musician, producer, and record executive who was born on March 31, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work as a trumpeter and the leader of the Tijuana Brass, a popular instrumental group in the 1960s. Alpert achieved success with hits like "A Taste of Honey" and "Spanish Flea," and his album "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" is considered a classic of the easy listening genre.


In addition to his music career, Herb Alpert co-founded A&M Records with business partner Jerry Moss in 1962. The record label became one of the most successful independent labels in the music industry, signing artists like The Carpenters, Cat Stevens, and Janet Jackson. Alpert has won multiple Grammy Awards and has also been involved in philanthropic efforts, including supporting arts education through his Herb Alpert Foundation.
