High Inergy was an American R&B and soul group formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1977. The group was originally composed of three sisters - Vernessa Mitchell, Barbara Mitchell, and Linda Howard - and a family friend, Vernita Mitchell. They were signed to Motown Records and gained popularity in the late 1970s with their hit songs "You Can't Turn Me Off (In the Middle of Turning Me On)" and "Didn't Wanna Tell You". High Inergy's music was characterized by their harmonious vocals and upbeat, danceable tunes.
The group released several albums throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, including "Turnin' On" and "Steppin' Out". Despite some success on the charts, High Inergy eventually disbanded in the mid-1980s. The group left a legacy as a talented and dynamic vocal group that contributed to the vibrant music scene of the era.
