Artist Bio:
Hole was an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1989 by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. The band's initial line-up also included bassist Jill Emery and drummer Caroline Rue. Hole achieved commercial success in the 1990s with their second studio album, "Live Through This" (1994), which was critically acclaimed and is considered one of the greatest albums of the decade. The band's sound was characterized by a mix of punk rock and grunge influences, with Love's raw and emotive vocals at the forefront.

Hole's most well-known line-up consisted of Love, Erlandson, bassist Melissa Auf der Maur, and drummer Patty Schemel. The band released a total of four studio albums before disbanding in 2002. Hole's music often explored themes of feminism, addiction, and relationships, and their raw and confrontational style made them an influential figure in the riot grrrl movement of the 1990s. Despite their controversial and tumultuous history, Hole remains a significant presence in the alternative rock scene.
