Tate signed with Verve Records in 1966 and released several successful singles including "Ain't Nobody Home" and "Get It While You Can."
In the late 1960s, Tate collaborated with producer Jerry Ragovoy and recorded his most acclaimed album, "Get It While You Can," in 1966. The album featured his hit single of the same name and is considered a classic of soul music. Despite his success, Tate struggled with personal issues, including addiction, which led to a hiatus in his music career. He made a comeback in the late 2000s with the release of the album "Blue Day," which was well-received by critics and fans. Howard Tate passed away on December 2, 2011, leaving behind a legacy of soulful and heartfelt music.
