He gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s with his powerful and emotive vocals, often compared to the likes of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. Tate released several successful albums during his career, including "Get It While You Can" in 1966, which featured the hit song of the same name.


Despite his early success, Tate faced personal struggles and took a hiatus from the music industry in the 1970s. He made a comeback in the late 2000s, releasing new music and performing live shows.
