Huey "Piano" Smith was an American rhythm and blues pianist from New Orleans. Born in 1934, Smith gained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for his energetic and innovative piano playing style. He was a key figure in the development of the New Orleans R&B sound, often incorporating elements of jazz and boogie-woogie into his music.
Smith is best known for his work with his band, The Clowns, with whom he recorded hits such as "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu" and "Don't You Just Know It." His music was influential in the development of rock and roll, and he is considered one of the pioneers of the New Orleans music scene. Smith's unique blend of piano playing and catchy melodies continues to be celebrated by fans of rhythm and blues music.
