Hurricane Smith was the stage name of Norman Smith, a British musician, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on February 22, 1923, in London, England, and passed away on March 3, 2008. Smith began his music career as a sound engineer at EMI, where he worked on recordings by The Beatles, including their albums "A Hard Day's Night" and "Rubber Soul."


In 1971, Hurricane Smith launched a successful solo career as a singer and released his debut album, "Hurricane Smith." His most well-known song, "Oh Babe, What Would You Say?" reached the top 3 in the UK and US charts. Smith continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with some moderate success. In addition to his music career, Hurricane Smith also produced albums for other artists, such as Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon."
