Artist Bio:
Ike Clanton was born on December 13, 1847, in Callaway County, Missouri, and is best known for his involvement in the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, on October 26, 1881. Clanton was part of a group of outlaws known as the "Cowboys" who clashed with lawmen Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp, and Doc Holliday in a gunfight that lasted only 30 seconds but left three Cowboys dead.
After the gunfight, Clanton fled Arizona and eventually settled in Colorado, where he worked various odd jobs and lived a relatively quiet life until his death on June 1, 1887. Despite his involvement in the gunfight, Clanton is remembered more for his association with the Wild West and the legendary figures of that era rather than for his artistic endeavors.
