Ike & Tina Turner were an American musical duo consisting of husband and wife Ike Turner and Tina Turner. They were known for their electrifying live performances and their unique blend of rock, blues, and soul music. The duo achieved great success in the 1960s and 1970s, with hits such as "Proud Mary," "River Deep - Mountain High," and "Nutbush City Limits."
Tina Turner's powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence, combined with Ike Turner's musical talents as a songwriter, producer, and musician, helped them become one of the most popular and influential acts of their time. Despite their professional success, the duo's personal relationship was tumultuous, marked by allegations of domestic abuse. Tina eventually left Ike in 1976 and went on to have a successful solo career, becoming known as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll." Ike & Tina Turner were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
