Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop duo formed in 1989 by Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, known by their stage names Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, respectively. The group is known for its unique style of horrorcore hip hop and their devoted fan base, known as Juggalos. Insane Clown Posse gained mainstream attention with their albums "The Great Milenko" and "The Amazing Jeckel Brothers," which both received Gold certification from the RIAA.
The duo has faced controversy over their explicit lyrics and themes, leading to being labeled as a "gang" by the FBI in 2011. Despite this, Insane Clown Posse continues to release music, tour extensively, and host the annual Gathering of the Juggalos music festival. They have also expanded their brand to include merchandise, a wrestling promotion, and a music label called Psychopathic Records.
