Ironhorse is best known for their hit single "Sweet Lui-Louise" which reached the Top 40 in Canada and the United States in 1979. The band released three albums during their career, with their self-titled debut album in 1979 being the most successful. Ironhorse disbanded in the mid-1980s, but their music continues to be remembered and appreciated by fans of classic rock.

The band's lineup consisted of musicians from British Columbia, including singer and guitarist Randy Bishop, bassist Bob Watson, keyboardist and guitarist Jeff Jones, and drummer Ray Ayotte.
