Ivory Joe Hunter was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist. He was born on October 10, 1914, in Kirbyville, Texas, and passed away on November 8, 1974. Hunter was known for his smooth and soulful voice, as well as his skillful piano playing. He achieved success in the 1940s and 1950s with hits such as "Since I Met You Baby" and "I Almost Lost My Mind."


Hunter was also a prolific songwriter, penning songs for himself as well as other artists. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. Hunter's music has had a lasting impact on the R&B genre, and he is remembered as a talented and influential artist in the history of American music.
