Artist Bio:
Jackie Wilson was an American singer known for his dynamic stage presence and powerful voice. Born on June 9, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Wilson rose to fame as a member of the R&B vocal group Billy Ward and His Dominoes in the 1950s. He later launched a successful solo career, scoring hits with songs like "Lonely Teardrops," "Higher and Higher," and "Reet Petite."

Wilson's energetic performances and smooth vocals earned him the nickname "Mr. Excitement" and established him as one of the most influential artists in the development of soul music. Despite personal struggles and health issues, Wilson continued to record and perform until a heart attack in 1975 left him in a coma from which he never fully recovered. He passed away on January 21, 1984, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a pioneering figure in the world of rhythm and blues.
