Jackie Wilson was an American singer known for his smooth vocal style and impressive stage presence. Born on June 9, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Wilson began his music career in the 1950s as a member of the R&B vocal group, the Dominoes. In 1957, he launched his solo career and quickly rose to fame with hits such as "Lonely Teardrops" and "Higher and Higher." Wilson was known for his energetic performances and dynamic dance moves, earning him the nickname "Mr. Excitement."


Throughout his career, Wilson released a string of successful singles and albums, becoming a prominent figure in the music industry. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 in recognition of his contributions to the genre. Wilson's influence can still be seen in the world of music today, as his music continues to inspire artists across various genres. Tragically, Wilson suffered a heart attack on stage in 1975 and remained in a coma until his death in 1984 at the age of 49.
