Artist Bio:
Jackie Wilson was an American singer known as one of the most dynamic and influential vocalists in the history of rhythm and blues and early rock and roll. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, and began his music career in the 1950s as a member of the R&B group the Dominoes before embarking on a successful solo career. Wilson's powerful and emotive voice, along with his energetic stage presence and smooth dance moves, earned him the nickname "Mr. Excitement."

Wilson scored numerous hit songs throughout his career, including "Lonely Teardrops," "Higher and Higher," and "Reet Petite." He was also known for his flashy style and charisma, which made him a popular performer in both the music and entertainment industries. Wilson's influence on later artists, such as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, is widely recognized, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Tragically, Wilson suffered a heart attack on stage in 1975, which left him in a coma until his death in 1984 at the age of 49.
