Artist Bio:
Jackie Wilson, born on June 9, 1934, was an American singer known as one of the most important and influential figures in the development of soul music in the 1950s and 1960s. Wilson began his career as a member of the R&B vocal group, the Dominoes, before launching a successful solo career. He recorded numerous hit songs, including "Lonely Teardrops," "Higher and Higher," and "Reet Petite," which showcased his powerful and dynamic vocal range.


Wilson was known for his electrifying stage presence and energetic performances, often incorporating acrobatics and dance moves into his shows. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, in recognition of his impact on the music industry. Wilson's music continues to be celebrated and remembered for its influence on the development of soul and R&B music. Tragically, Wilson suffered a heart attack while performing on stage in 1975, which left him in a coma until his death in 1984 at the age of 49.
