Artist Bio:
Jackie Wilson was an American singer and performer, born on June 9, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. He was known for his four-octave vocal range and energetic stage presence, earning him the nickname "Mr. Excitement." Wilson began his music career as a member of the R&B vocal group, the Dominoes, before launching a successful solo career in the late 1950s.

Throughout the 1960s, Wilson released numerous hit songs, including "Lonely Teardrops" and "Higher and Higher," which helped solidify his reputation as one of the great soul and R&B singers of his time. Wilson's dynamic performances and smooth vocals influenced many artists who came after him, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Sadly, Wilson's career was cut short in 1975 when he suffered a heart attack on stage, leaving him in a coma until his death in 1984.
