Artist Bio:
Jackie Wilson was an American singer and performer known for his powerful voice and energetic stage presence. Born on June 9, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Wilson began his music career as a member of the R&B vocal group, the Dominoes. He later embarked on a successful solo career, releasing hit songs such as "Lonely Teardrops," "Higher and Higher," and "Reet Petite."

Wilson's dynamic performances and smooth vocals earned him the nickname "Mr. Excitement." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and is considered one of the most influential artists in the development of soul and R&B music. Wilson's career was tragically cut short when he suffered a heart attack while performing on stage in 1975, leaving him in a coma until his death in 1984 at the age of 49.
