Artist Bio:
James & Bobby Purify were an American R&B duo composed of cousins James Lee Purify and Robert Lee Dickey. They signed with Bell Records in the mid-1960s and released their biggest hit, "I'm Your Puppet," in 1966. The song reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and number five on the R&B chart. Their music featured a blend of soul, R&B, and pop influences, characterized by strong vocal harmonies and catchy melodies.

Despite their initial success with "I'm Your Puppet," James & Bobby Purify struggled to replicate the same level of commercial success with subsequent releases. The duo eventually disbanded in the early 1970s, with James Lee Purify continuing to perform as a solo artist. James & Bobby Purify's music has endured over the years, with "I'm Your Puppet" remaining a popular soul classic and a staple on oldies radio stations.
