Born in 1933 in South Carolina, Brown started his music career in the 1950s and became one of the most influential figures in the development of soul and funk music. Known for his energetic performances and distinctive voice, Brown had numerous hit songs, including "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," "I Got You (I Feel Good)," and "Say It Loud ΓÇô I'm Black and I'm Proud." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992. Brown passed away in 2006, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
