James Brown and The Famous Flames were an American musical group that came to prominence in the 1960s. James Brown, also known as the "Godfather of Soul," was the lead singer of the group. The Famous Flames consisted of various musicians who performed with Brown over the years, including Bobby Byrd, Johnny Terry, and Bobby Bennett.


The group was known for their energetic live performances and their innovative blend of rhythm and blues, gospel, and soul music. They had numerous hit songs, including "Please, Please, Please," "I Got You (I Feel Good)," and "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag." James Brown and The Famous Flames were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 in recognition of their significant contributions to the music industry.
