James Darren is an American actor, director, and singer, born on June 8, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his role as Moondoggie in the 1960s surf movie series "Gidget," alongside Sandra Dee. Darren also gained fame for his role as Officer Jim Corrigan in the television series "T.J. Hooker" starring William Shatner.


In addition to his acting career, Darren is a talented singer with several albums to his name. He is well-remembered for his hit songs such as "Goodbye Cruel World" and "Her Royal Majesty." Throughout his career, Darren has appeared in numerous films and television shows, showcasing his versatility as both an actor and a singer.
