Jan & Arnie were an American musical duo consisting of Jan Berry and Arnie Ginsburg. They were active in the late 1950s and early 1960s and were known for their surf rock and doo-wop style. Jan Berry was known for being one half of the popular duo Jan & Dean, but he teamed up with Arnie Ginsburg to create the side project Jan & Arnie. Their most famous song is "Jennie Lee," which was released in 1958 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song featured Berry's distinctive falsetto vocals and a catchy surf rock beat.
Jan & Arnie's music was characterized by its upbeat and catchy melodies, as well as its nostalgic and carefree lyrics that captured the spirit of the early days of rock and roll. Despite their relatively short-lived career as a duo, Jan & Arnie left a lasting impact on the surf rock genre and are remembered as pioneers of the California sound that would later become synonymous with bands like The Beach Boys.
