Artist Bio:
Jan & Dean were an American rock duo consisting of Jan Berry and Dean Torrence. They were prominent in the 1960s and are best known for their surf music and vocal harmonies. The duo achieved commercial success with hits such as "Surf City," "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena," and "Dead Man's Curve." They were associated with the California surf rock sound and were part of the "California Sound" of the era. Jan & Dean's music often featured catchy melodies and upbeat lyrics that captured the spirit of the surf culture of the time.

Despite their success, Jan & Dean's career was interrupted when Jan Berry was seriously injured in a car accident in 1966, which left him with brain damage. Although they continued to perform and record after the accident, their popularity waned. Jan & Dean were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2008, recognizing their contributions to the music industry and their influence on the surf rock genre.
