Artist Bio:
Jan & Dean were an American rock duo consisting of Jan Berry and Dean Torrence. They found success in the early 1960s with their surf music and vocal harmonies. The duo is best known for their hit songs such as "Surf City," "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena," and "Dead Man's Curve." They were pioneers of the California Sound and were a part of the surf music craze that swept the nation during that time.
Jan & Dean's career was tragically cut short when Jan Berry was severely injured in a car accident in 1966, leaving him with brain damage. Despite the setback, the duo continued to perform and record music sporadically over the years. Jan & Dean were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2008, recognizing their contributions to the music industry and their impact on the surf rock genre.
